Christmas Eve Eve

Okay, so I made up a holiday but that is okay. Tomorrow is our big Christmas with Christmas day being large family gatherings. I have felt like a little kid all day... I cannot wait for Brianna to open her presents! I am way more excited about that than any presents I am going to get! I hope she has a great Christmas although I know she will not remember it, but it has to be better than last year...she slept through all the festivities! Anyway, I hope everyone has a very Merry CHRISTmas!

Ear Re-check/New Tooth

Brianna went to the doctor Friday for a re-check of her ears. I went knowing that they were still infected and was waiting for a Ear-Nose-Throat referral. The doctor told us that they looked perfect and that there was no sign of the infection. This meant a few things...1)Bobby was right...the reason she has been so grumpy is because her teeth are bothering her and...2)that he stood stronger in his faith than I did. We prayed a few Sundays ago with some elders at church about her ears and I did not stand fast in what I should have known would be the outcome...luckily Bobby did. How come I cannot seem to fully believe and trust that he always has our best interest in mind and will come through? Unlike a lot of people I have proof of this and I still stumble!
On another note...Brianna has finally cut her third tooth...with three more coming in anytime. Poor thing...her gums must be pretty sore! She has also started throwing kisses this week. It is sooo cute.

Growing Up

Well, I think Brianna is officially weaned. She has not nursed since Saturday and seems okay with it as long as Daddy gets her up. It went a lot easier than I thought it would. The doctor and every book/web article I have read recommended starting with the morning feeding. Of course, my little girl has to be different. She very easily stopped nursing at night and would even follow me when she saw me getting her cup of milk ready. The morning was a different story. As soon as she got into bed with me all she wanted to do was nurse. Now, Daddy gets her up with a cup of milk and holds her for a little bit then she comes into our bedroom where I usually can be found at 6:30 in the morning. I am sad...I miss our special cuddle time, but it is nice to have my body back to myself. Unfortunately, my body has not recognized she no longer needs my milk...leaving me a little uncomfortable!

Round Two

Okay, first let me apologize for waiting so long to post pictures from Brianna's party. It seems like there are not enough hours in the day anymore! Anyway, we took Brianna back to the doctor yesterday for her second ear infection in 6.5 weeks! Poor girl! I knew she was fussy, but I didn't know if that was because her top four teeth look like they could come in anytime, if it was because she had a cold or if it was because Daddy was out of town...I just knew something was not right. So we took her to the doctor and he said one ear was inflamed and the other had a lot of fluid behind it. He said if she keeps getting infections like this she is going to need tubes! I feel so bad for her! I know what she is going through...I had tubes when I was six and my right ear drum reconstructed when I was about 10. I hope that she is not heading down the same road I went. Please pray for a complete healing in her ears. Thank you!

Happy 1st Birthday Brianna!

Okay, so this post is a few days late. Who knew that having a birthday party for a 1 year old could be so exhausting! We had a big birthday party for her at church Sunday afternoon and of course she got a lot of stuff! I really can't believe she is already 1 year old! Time sure does fly by!
We took her to the doctor this morning for her 12 month check-up. The doctor said she is perfectly healthy and really smart! She now weighs 19 lbs 12 ozs and is 29.5 inches long. The shots were not any fun, but went a lot better than the blood work did. I ended up getting quite a workout trying to hold her still while they took blood. Overall, she did pretty well.
She started walking about 3 weeks ago. She is know walking more than crawling and getting into everything! It is really neat to watch her toddle around!
I plan on getting some pics up sometime soon so check back later!

Living in the country...

can be great. That being said, when your house is in the middle of a field that has just been harvested you get some unexpected & unwanted visitors. We are being invaded!!!! Mice seem to be everywhere! Here is the tally for dead mice in our house...cat-1, humans-2. It seems that we are much more effective at getting rid of our "friends" than our feline. We found one in front of the aquarium one morning, another one was creeping along the love seat while Bobby was sitting in front of it and was unknowing sat on and squished enough to daze it so that Bobby could use his trusty mini Louisville slugger to finish him off and the other sneaked up under the kitchen rug and again was unknowingly stepped on...it was a very lovely sight. Bobby is very effective at getting mice with sticks...we have found him to be much more effective than traps! And his mini Louisville slugger is his weapon of choice. This is not an unusual problem for us this time of year...it is just very irritating...especially when you go to but your baby down for a nap and see mouse droppings in her crib. Gross!
Needless to say, Bobby went this afternoon and bought traps and steel wool to stuff in any holes around the house.

Here we go again!

To the doctor, that is. Last week I took Brianna to the doctor for what turned out to be her first ear infection. I hope she does not end up having as much problems with her ears as I did. On Monday, Bobby & I both went to the doctor. We are not sure what either of us has but we both got antibiotics and he got some "really good" cough syrup and an inhaler. Today, I am taking Brianna back to the doctor. She just finished her last dose of antibiotics last night and is running a fever. I might be jumping the gun a little bit, but she is my baby and she can't tell me what is wrong so I am going to have her checked out. I would rather be safe than sorry. Anyway this will make a total of $80 in co-pays since last Tuesday. And what is even better it that all three of us have scheduled appts on this coming Tuesday. And Brianna has her 12 month check-up in 2 weeks. If we keep all these appts we will spend $160 in co-pays alone this month! Ouch! It makes me really thankful that we have insurance!I am hoping that the doctor will let me cancel her appt that is scheduled for Tuesday since she is going to see him today and it is just a recheck for her ear infection. Please pray that she starts feeling better soon!

Chuck E. Cheese

Our nephew, Cameron turned one on the 8th of this month. He had his birthday party on the 18th at Chuck E. Cheese. Just so you know, we discovered that Brianna is terrified on giant mice or rats, as Bobby calls them! Here are a few pics from her first trip there.

This is the Birthday boy, our nephew, Cameron. He is about 6.5 weeks older than Brianna.

This is Brianna on her first ever ride!

We don't know what this face is about!

This is a picture of Brianna and her cousins sharing a ride on the giant horse. From left to right is Matthew,3, Cameron, 1 and Brianna almost 11 months!

Grandpa's Birthday

My dad's birthday was the 11th of this month. Here are a few pictures from our celebration.

This is a picture of Brianna and her Grandpa

This is a picture of Brianna getting some practice on digging into her birthday cake!

Disappearing Act

Brianna is already learning some card tricks! This is her trying to make a card disappear!

What's been happening...

Things have been crazy around here the last several weeks! After Brianna got her teeth she started waking up again at night for a few weeks. During this time and for a little bit after our outside dog, Chloe, would keep us up/wake us up barking. The end result was that after everthing settled down...I could not sleep! Things got worse before they got better. Tuesday Bobby came home for lunch to find me crying because I was so tired...p.s. I am not much of a cryer. He ended up staying home the rest of the day, even though he came home early Monday so I could rest! Thank you so much sweetheart! I ended up calling the doctor on Wednesday to see if I could take anything to help me sleep while I was nursing and he said no. Thankfully, I ended up getting a pretty good night's sleep that night and have been sleeping a lot better than before since then. Please pray for a complete cure for my insomnia.
About the time all this starts happening, I started praying for a way to get more involved in my church and a few days later I was asked if I would be interested in taking something on (more on this later). Knowing it was an answer to my prayers I accepted. Right after this is when things went from bad to worse. Not only was I not sleeping but Brianna was grumpy and really aggravating me! One day while she was supposed to be sleeping and I was going to rest she would not sleep! She laid in her crib crying for about an hour and when she did fall asleep it was only for half an hour! I lost it! I am not proud of myself for the way I behaved. I now realize that I needed a break and had for some time but I always but everything else before taking some time for myself. Thank you Pastor Aaron for making me take some time off! After several breaks I felt better able to handle things. And since I started sleeping things are even better!
I am blogging this not just to let you know what has been happening but also as a lead in for what we talked about in church today. We discussed that when you strike at the devil he will strike back. And that was what I had been doing...by praying to become more involved in my church I was striking him. And boy did he strike back! I knew that was what was happening but after several weeks of it I fell victim to his attacks. It was just today during service that I realized why. I pray that every time he attacks me I will be able to resist him longer until he no longer wins. Here is to a better week!
I plan on adding some pictures throughout the week so keep you eyes out for them!

Anniversary

Eight years ago today we found out we were expecting our first child. It also happened to be on a Friday. What a day to find out you are pregnant! While sitting at the doctor's office waiting to be seen by the OB/GYN after there was an abnormality found on an ultrasound I had done earlier in the day (before pregnancy was confirmed) due to abdominal pain. They suspected a tubal pregnancy. I heard the doctor's nurse calling down for the ultrasound and saying that I might have to have surgery. I knew I was not going to have surgery... I was pregnant and I wasn't going to allow anything to happen to that child! That is when I knew I was a Mom...I was putting my child above my needs. Two months and six days later on December 19th I did have surgery...our baby, which we named Corey, died at about 8 weeks gestation, and my body was not naturally miscarrying the baby. The next November we lost our second child, a little boy we named Zachary. In April we lost another baby we named Casey. Again in September we lost another baby we named Taylor. And in April we lost a little girl we named Hannah. All of these babies died between 6 and 8.5 weeks gestation. Just shy of the seventh anniversary of Corey's "death" Brianna was born. Since Corey died a month before we were aware of it, he actually died at the end of November. I have often wondered in the past almost eleven months, if Brianna was born on the day he died.
I still think about these babies...although I will admit that it is not near as often as I used to. It also doesn't hurt near a badly as it used to. And although I know those babies were never meant for this earth...I still miss them.
I am writing this not only because it is the eighth anniversary of finding out I was pregnant, but also because this is Pregnancy & Infant loss awareness month. Across the country this month there will be walks of remembrance in honor of babies that died far too soon. Far too often, parents of miscarried babies are not allowed to grieve. They are told to move on with their lives...there will be other children. For most this is true. Their next pregnancy will result in a beautiful & healthy baby, for some, like us, it may take several more losses before they finally hold a baby in their arms and for others the pain is far too great to keep trying when all they have experienced is multiple losses and/or many fertility treatments.
They next time you pray, say a prayer for these parents who are often hurting but are trying to move forward and put on brave face. Or if you know someone who has recently experienced a loss maybe let them know you thinking about them and are there for them if they need someone to talk to. I know they will appeciate it.
With many thanks, Penny

Nap Time?

This is supposed to be the end of Brianna's afternoon nap. She normally naps from 1:30 to 3. I starting rocking her about 1:30 and she fell asleep after about 10 minutes. When I went to put her down in her crib, she woke up. She has been doing this more frequently but has started laying back down and going back to sleep after a few minutes. So, when she woke up this afternoon, I told her to have sweet dreams and that I would check on her shortly. So after 5 minutes, she was quiet so I went and peeked in on her. She was standing up in her crib looking towards the door! I laid her back down. I checked on her again in ten minutes (we use the Ferber technique) and she was standing playing with her mobile! After fifteen minutes, she was playing with the woodwork on her crib! After 20 minutes, she was laying down and playing with the wall. It has almost reached the 25 minute mark, and she has just got quiet...I wonder what I am going to find! Here's hoping she went to sleep!

I Have Teeth!

Well, Brianna finally cut her first two teeth last night! They have just broke the surface so you can't really see them but if you rub your finger over her gums you can feel them! I am so excited! I was beginning to wonder if she would have any teeth by her first birthday! And, the best part about it is that she slept completely through the night and did not run a fever with them!

One, Two, Three, FOUR!

Four...the number of snakes I have seen near our front door this year...so far! This one is small and kinda cute though...at least for a snake!

Good News!

It looks like we are not going to have to switch doctors after all! Bobby has the option to sign up for a different insurance company through work that will be accepted at all of our current doctors! We do not know when this will take effect yet so we will still probably have some out of network expenses, but I am very happy about not losing our primary care doctors! Thanks everyone!

Pediatric/Physician Referrals...Help!

Okay, so yesterday when we got the mail we had three letters from Welborn Clinic, one addressed to each of us. I am thinking they are doing some sort of trial and they are informing us about it...not too unusual. Upon reading the letter I find out that as of October 1st, our primary care doctors will no longer be covered by our insurance due to the Deaconess buyout of the clinic. They are are terminating the Sagamore Select insurance contract. So they gave us less than two weeks notice to start finding new doctors. Do they not realize that people have babies that seem to get sick once a month, or like this month, twice in one week! How do you find a pediatrician that you feel super comfortable with in less than two weeks? And Bobby has been seeing our family doctor for about 20 years! So if you know of any doctors that are accepting new patients and accept Sagamore Select insurance please let me know because unfortunately, we are in the market for new ones.

And the weaning begins!?!?

...and did I get a say so? NO! To begin with, I took Brianna to the doctor because she had a fever on Wednesday and broke out in a rash yesterday. We thought with the fever it was just her teeth since she has been having a really hard time with them the last few weeks. Then yesterday she broke out in a rash and today it was worse, so I called the doctor to have him take a look at it. It turns out that she has Hand, Foot & Mouth disease. So let me apologize right now if your child was around Brianna on Wednesday...I am sorry. She would of only been contagious while running a fever, which she was Wednesday morning, but not really in the afternoon and evening. Anyway, while we were there I asked him about an experiment I did on Labor Day... I decided to feed Brianna on demand instead of on schedule. The result...she only nursed twice...once first thing in the morning and then again during our bedtime routine. Right now, nursing & rocking is our bedtime routine. So I guess I need to be changing it soon because he said she is probably starting to self-wean! I knew that I would need to start weaning soon, but I thought I had a few months left! I can't believe my baby is growing so fast!

The end of the rainbow...

was in my front yard Thursday night.

Childhood Friends

Did you ever have a friend that you don't remember not knowing? I had two, Amie & April, they are sisters. Amie was about my age and April was about a year younger. Our parents were friends and we literally grew up together. There are pictures of us as preschoolers taking baths together. We were inseperable! They pretty much lived at our house for a few years after their parents got divorced. As we got older, we started hanging out with other people but we were still friends. We pretty much stopped talking regularly sometime in high school...but there has always been a connection between us. I found out Saturday that Amie, age 29, passed away unexpectedly sometime Friday night/Saturday morning in her sleep. I feel like part of my past has died also...there are very few memories of my early childhood that do not include these two girls in them. Please keep this family in your prayers...especially her daughter, who is about 10...I know they need them. Thank you!

Spoiled by Daddy!

Yesterday Bobby had a conference in Indy. While we were doing the adoption we discovered Edinburgh, so when he drove by it yesterday he called and asked if I wanted him to stop on the way back and get anything. I said, "Sure, you can stop at the Carter's outlet" which happens to be one of my favorite brands of baby clothing. He called before he got there yesterday afternoon and asked what she needed. I told him that she doesn't have any dresses for the fall, she still needs a few pajamas in the next size and she could probably use a few rompers for the fall also. He calls me again while in the store and asks about a specific dress. I am thinking this whole time he is going to come home with a few things. This is what he comes home with: 4 rompers, 3 outfits, 2 pajamas, 2 dresses and 1 shirt. He spent over $100.00! I will admit that he did find some good deals, all but one item was at least 50% off, but if I would have done that I would have been in tons of trouble and probably would not be allowed to go shopping ever again! What can I say, Bobby really loves his little girl!

Attention Snake Lovers!

I know you are out there! Evidently, if you like snakes you need to come to my house. If you are like me and don't like them...even a little bit, you would be considering moving...like myself! If you remember, I posted earlier this summer about 2 snakes basking near my front door. Well, today after I returned from eating lunch with my sis-in-law, Cassy, and nephew, Cameron, I was getting ready to come into the house and noticed something in the landscaping. I looked a little closer and realized it was a snake, and it's head was on the front porch preventing me from getting into the house! Luckily, I had a key to the back door so I walked around the house, fortunately not running into any more snakes! We have lived here for 5 years now and have never seen so many snakes this close to the house! Any one interested in moving?!?!
P.S. Sorry no pictures this time...the camera was in the house!

One Month?!?!?!

I can't believe it has been a month since I posted! We have been busy. We were double-whammied this month. Brianna had bronchitis and I had a sinus infection at the same time! I can't complain though. It was the first time Brianna has really been sick and I haven't had a sinus infection in about 2 years (I used to get a few a year before getting treated for allergies!). Since Brianna started crawling I can't seem to get much done during the day and at night I am too tired. She is finally napping well. She will take a morning and afternoon nap now, each about 1.5 hrs long. This gives me time to get some stuff done. Although, she has started waking up in the night again so most afternoons I am napping myself. Tina & Kasey's youngest, Owen, is now coming over on Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings while she teaches pre-school. He is a big help with Brianna & she really adores him. I can't think of much else that is going on. It has just been a busy month!

9 months

I can't believe it! Brianna is 9 months old already! The time sure is flying by! A few weeks ago I came downstairs crying after putting Brianna to bed and Bobby asked my what was wrong. I told him she is getting too big! She doesn't want to cuddle anymore. And I know that before I know what hits me, she won't want to nurse either. I have joked with Bobby, telling him that it took us seven years to get her, it would be nice if she stayed little that long also. Not that I want her to be a newborn again, nursing around the clock, but if she would stay this age for awhile I wouldn't mind!
I took her for her check-up on Thursday. She weighed 18 lbs (43 percentile) and was 27 in long (41 percentile). The doctor said that everything looks good and she is growing well.
Check back sometime next week. I should have some nine month photos posted. We were supposed to have them taken on Saturday, but she got a boo-boo under her eye so we rescheduled! Hopefully no more scratches so we can have them taken this weekend!

How do you spell...?

The other night while I was nursing Brianna before putting her to bed I was looking at her sleeper. It has a cute little giraffe on one side and most of the rest of the sleeper is covered in a "word search." I was finding the names for various animals including: dog, monkey, lion, giraffe and others. Now, back to my question. How do you spell the name referring to an animal that has black & white stripes and resembles a horse?

I think somebody forgot to use spellcheck!

Brianna's Milestones

Here is a list of things Brianna accomplished while we were away.

1. say "da-da," although she does not know who or what that means
2. crawl and become proficient at it
3. hold her sippy cup (we are still holding it for her for the most part)
4. sit up by herself
5. pull up

I am probably forgetting something, but I think this is enough! When we left, she was trying to crawl, but for the most part content to scoot on her bottom! I am glad Bobby baby-proofed the house before we left! Isn't is amazing how quickly they grow and learn new things!

Home Sweet Home!!!

We are back! Isn't is amazing how it does not matter how anticipated the trip was or the duration you were away it is always nice to come home? Brianna did well on the trip although she seems not to like her car seat now.
It took about 12 hours (including stops) to reach our original location. We arrived in Santee, SC to the "resort" we were to stay at. Lets just say, I have never seen the word resort used so loosely! It was a very dilapidated camp ground...nothing more! Our "cabin" was a small trailer! It was supposed to sleep 4 privately and six total. The only way it would have slept 6 was to block off one bedroom and whoever would be sleeping in that room would not be able to get out until the sleeper sofa was put up...not very practical. The 1.75 bathrooms the reservation confirmation stated the facility would have turned out to be 1 tiny bathroom. Maybe they were including the public bathroom on the camp grounds for the other part of the bathroom? Daisy, my mother-in-law, called the timeshare company to complain and they said they could not find anything to switch us to due to the holiday weekend. So she started calling around herself and found a virtual paradise for us. Unfortunately, they had to pay for it. We ended up on an island south of Charleston. We were a 6 minute walk from the beach!!! How awesome!!!
We had a great stay in South Carolina. It was a lot of fun!!! Brianna enjoyed the ocean and had her first taste of sand.
We then went to visit our friends, Chris and AnnMarie, in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was great to see them again and visit. I really miss them.
Anyway, check back soon. I hope to have pics from vacation posted sometime this week!

Vacation Time!!!

We are leaving for vacation Saturday morning. We are going to the Charleston (SC) area for a week then going to visit our friends, Chris and Ann Marie, in Raleigh (NC) for a weekend! We can't wait! We haven't seen Chris and Ann since Christmas. I am a little nervous about traveling with a 7 month old, but I am sure it will be fine, just a little slower than normal. I hope she does not sleep the whole way and stay up all night Saturday! Anyway, we are almost packed and ready...even Brianna!

I will post more pics after we return!

The Tea Bath

We went to Hacienda tonight to celebrate the beginning of vacation. I was really craving a chicken chimichanga. We sit down, order our drinks and some queso then I start feeding Brianna. A few minutes later, our waitress brings our drinks. As she is starting to sit them down, Bobby's iced tea begins to fall and spills all over Brianna! Poor thing! She was soaked! She did really well though, it took a few seconds and then she starts crying/screaming! I don't blame her...it had to be a very cold shock! I went to change her and she calmed down. While I was in the bathroom, one of the waitresses came by and told Bobby that dinner was on them. A small blessing in the midst of a sticky mess!

Update: The Sippy Cup

Just to let everyone know, Brianna is now taking a sippy cup of FORMULA without any problems! We adjusted the valves to where there is a little hole in them so that she does not have to suck so hard. Since she is using a valve, she is not nearly as messy. The bibs I put on her are damp but not soaked through like they were the first several attempts. She will take about 2.5 oz and she is done. I am very relieved to know that if I am somewhere on vacation where I don't feel comfortable nursing, she will take a sippy cup of formula at room temp!!!! Way to go, Brianna!!!

Where's Brianna?

I sat Brianna down on the floor of her room the other morning so I could take a shower. This is what I found when I got out. Note that she is not in this picture. She was sitting to the left of the pink pig.

This is where I found her!

In this picture you can see how far she scooted. She cannot crawl, or if she can, she has not let us know! She is into everything and she is not even really mobile yet!

The Sippy Cup

As many of you know, Brianna started refusing a bottle at about 8 weeks. We tried various bottles with slow and medium flow nipples. We even tried the Adiri bottle that looks and feels very much like a breast. Still no luck. I had resigned myself to breastfeeding exclusively for all her liquid needs. At about 4 months, her godmother Tina got her a sippy cup, she liked it and I got excited. We have been working with her for the past 2.5 months on getting her to use it. She loves to chew on it and the spout but she only gets mere dripples out of it. So I decided to try some other types of cups. I tied one with a hard spout which she did not like at all. I tried the new NUK learner cup which she took to but still did not get anything out of it. I had also tried the Gerber Transitional 7 oz cup but since it had a valve she could not get anything out. I was getting desperate! We are going on vacation the first of July and I would like her to be able to drink something out of a cup so she does not get dehydrated due to the heat. Yesterday, I decided to pump some breastmilk and put it in the Transitional cup without the valve. There was 3.5 oz in the "bottle" and when she was done there was less than an ounce! Granted she was wet from it drippling out of her mouth but she took it! She eagerly took juice from it last night. She took another "bottle" this morning, though she was not so happy about it (she was tired). I am going to keep working with her and hope and pray that by the time we go on vacation she can drink from it with the valve or without making such a mess!

Put Me to Sleep, Daddy!

Brianna has been having trouble staying asleep for about the last week. She will wake up a few times a night, in about 30 minute to 1 hour intervals. Last night when she woke up the second time, around 10:30, we let her cry for about 5 or so minutes, hoping she would settle herself down, then Bobby went in to check on her. When he walked in she was holding both of her feet. As soon as she saw him, she closed her eyes turned her head and laid all sprawled out as if to say, "Okay Daddy, I am ready to be patted to sleep!" How cute!

What a Day!

Today has been one of those days when you wished you just would have stayed in bed. Brianna has been fussier than normal the past few days (I think her teeth are bothering her). Then I opened the door this afternoon to see not one but two BIG snakes sunning much to close to the house for my comfort. I took these pictures from the safety of the front door.Luckily for me, my wonderful husband, who can kill mice better than a mouse trap, can also kill snakes fairly well. He got one, and he said it was over 4 ft long! The other snake came out later but disappeared before he could get it. Hopefully, it has found it's way to the field and will be very happy there and not venture back up to the house!
Brianna decided that she did not want to eat lunch. I put her down for her nap like I always do. Last week naps were so easy! I really enjoyed naptime for a change! This week has been back to the same old routine..screaming! A least I have gotten over the guilt of not holding her while she is screaming. I realized that it really only makes things worse. So after holding her for about 5 minutes where she was crying and not settling down I put her in her crib and sat in the room with her. After about 10 minutes she was out! That is until I stepped on a loose board on the floor and woke her up. Anyway, after she finally took her nap and woke up, she was fussy. We figured since she did not eat lunch she was hungry, well, she was also rooting too, I guess that really tipped us off. She wanted to nurse, but it was not time. Tried a bottle, did not work. Gave her fruit, it helped a little but she was still fussy. She fussed and cried for a little over a hour...until it was time for her to nurse! Then all was right with her little world and she was happy!
Also, yesterday when Bobby came home for lunch, he found a swarm of what turned out to be termites at our front door. So we called an exterminator who came out today to give us an estimate. First of all, they said they would be here today between 11 to 1. They showed up at 3. Well, lets just say for the next 18 months we will be spending an extra $45 a month. That price is after Bobby talked them down, it was going to be about $65 a month!
And of course while the wonderful gentlemen were here telling us how important it was to treat for the possible infestation the power went out and stayed out for about a hour! Since you cannot cook without electric, we ordered pizza! I stuffed myself with 3 large pieces! So long diet!
By the way the power came back on and stayed on before the pizza even got here!

Flashback to the 80's!

This has been 80's month at church. Everything from a bible studied entitled "Watchoo Talkin' Bout Willis?" to sermons titled from songs popular in the 80's. So of course we ended it with a 80's concert. Here is a picture of me & Brianna and Hands of Praise (in the background) performing with Gabe (singing) and the "Men of Praise" who were mocking us!

6 month Photos

We had fun getting our pictures taken on Saturday! Brianna was full of smiles! Here are some of our favorites. Enjoy!

Happy Half-Birthday, Brianna!

Brianna is 6 months old today! I really can't believe it! Time is going by so quickly. It seems just like yesterday that she was born. She had her sixth month check-up (and shots) on Wednesday. She now weights 16 lbs 11 oz and is 25 1/4 inches long. She has just moved up to a big girl car seat, so no more lugging the baby carrier around! She still won't take a bottle, so that means pretty much where ever Mommy goes Brianna goes as well. She just started to eat lunch instead of nurse, so we are eating 3 meals a day and nursing about 4 times. I still have hope for a bottle or sippy cup to fill in sometime. We are having six month & family photos taken tomorrow, so check back soon because I hope to have some posted.
